18 February 2025 World Energy Saving Day: ASTM’s commitment to Energy Transition
Sustainability is a core element of the ASTM’s business model, as the Group embraces its role not only as an economic operator but also as a driver of community well-being in the regions connected by its infrastructure.
On the occasion of World Energy Saving Day, ASTM reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, with a particular focus on environmental impact. The Group has set the goal of reducing GHG Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 54% and Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services by 11% by 2030, in line with the Paris Agreement and the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
Among its initiatives, ASTM has introduced innovative solutions for its corporate fleet, such as the use of HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), a renewable diesel fuel produced from waste and plant residues. This fuel significantly lowers CO₂ emissions and ensures cleaner combustion, cutting pollutant particle emissions by up to 90%.
To accelerate the energy transition, ASTM has also developed a strategy focused on optimizing the Group’s entire fleet: maximizing the use of HVO-compatible vehicles, gradually replacing non-compliant ones, and installing refueling tanks across operational units.
Energy efficiency and emission reduction remain key priorities for ASTM, which continues to invest in concrete solutions to make its operations increasingly sustainable.
