02 May 2019 Itinera supporting student rugby in Turin
Itinera considers community relations a vital part of its business and sustainability approach, pursued together with the parent company ASTM.
This is why the Company has decided to invest in sport for younger players, as a fundamental opportunity for socialising and encouraging robust competition.
With this in mind, it has confirmed its partnership for the 2018-2019 season with CUS Torino, Turin University’s sports centre, which is the top multi-disciplinary facility in Italy in terms of the number of sports played, its continuity and level of activities.
Thanks to its contribution, local women’s and men’s rugby teams, consisting entirely of university students, can take part in national championships (including Serie A), and the main related competitions, wearing shirts bearing the words “Itinera CUS Ad Maiora Rugby 1951”.
The main aim of CUS is to give Turin’s universities – both the University and the Polytechnic – a sports service that can improve the quality of life of each student. The partnership will create value for the city of Turin, attracting a growing number of students from throughout Italy and from all of Europe through the Erasmus project.
However, Itinera’s close ties with the academic community in Turin do not only focus on sport. In fact, each year the Company offers the most deserving students the chance to start a training and recruitment programme at its companies, with work placements giving them the chance to explore the world of work up close, and training and recruitment programmes for recent graduates to train as the managers of the future.
