ASTM Group at UN Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety: “Andiamo sul sicuro” road safety project

ASTM Group, is participating today in the UN Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety, in Geneva. This forum represents the leading global inter-ministerial meeting dedicated to road safety. Today’s day is aimed at presenting successful projects and strengthening international collaboration, and in this context ASTM has been invited to present the “Andiamo sul Sicuro” initiative, among the best practices in road safety promotion. The Forum, a U.N. intergovernmental body designed to handle road safety issues, Traffic Conventions and the one on signalization, operates within the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and among its main objectives is to support the implementation of the Global Road Safety Plan to halve the number of road fatalities and injuries globally by 2030.

ASTM is participating in the UN Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety with the “Andiamo sul sicuro” project, created in collaboration with the Police to spread a new culture of road safety. The initiative consists of a traveling road safety education tour aimed at elementary, middle and high school students located in the areas served by the Group’s dealerships in Italy. In the 2023-2024 school year alone, the project has already involved more than 7,500 people, with the goal of reaching 15,000 students and teachers, who will become a driving force for a wide-ranging prevention effort. Participants take part in fun and educational activities led by specialized trainers and speakers, in a citywide and aggregating scenario that always includes the active involvement of local institutions.

In the future, ASTM aims to expand the audience of young people involved more and more, to renew partnerships with schools and municipalities and to activate new ones, contributing to a positive change in terms of road safety awareness and in the adoption of new habits.
