New words for social inclusion: ASTM supports the “Paolo Osiride Ferrero” Journalism Prize

On 18 June, at the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences in Turin, the winners of the Paolo Osiride Ferrero Journalism Prize were awarded. The initiative, conceived and promoted by the CPD – Consulta per le Persone in Difficoltà with the support of Fondazione CRT as part of the Disability Agenda project, stems from the will to enhance those who, within the world of information in Italy, who have stood out in raising public awareness on the issues of disability and social inclusion. The goal of the project is to improve the general perception on these topics, overcoming the still too frequent pietistic approach and advancing communication towards a more correct and modern mode.

The 2024 edition, guided by the designated Jury and Technical-Scientific committee, featured three award categories: press, radio and TV, web and social. Each winner was able, through his or her journalistic, authorial or creative activity, to polarize the attention of public opinion and institutions on the issue of disability and people in difficulty through the telling of original stories, set in an exemplary tone as well as investigative or denunciatory.

ASTM, along with other entities from the profit and nonprofit worlds, supported the project by contributing to the economic recognition awarded to each prize. In addition, the Group has extended its partnership by including a representative on both the Jury and the Technical Scientific Committee, with the aim of contributing to the collective commitment to promoting social inclusion in the field of traditional and new media communication.
